Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals to optimize cost efficiency and value.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and negotiations, ensuring favorable, compliant, and beneficial contracts.
- Collaborate with departments such as finance, operations, and legal to ensure cohesive procurement processes.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance, adjusting strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Manage procurement budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Prepare and present procurement reports and forecasts to senior management, highlighting achievements and future strategies.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Experience in diverse industries, preferably from an EPC background, with procurement of goods and services across Africa.
- Proven experience in executing procurement for medium to large-scale government-funded projects (~$20-70 million USD), with extensive vendor dealings across geographies.
- Experience in procuring educational equipment and machinery is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; Master’s degree is advantageous.
- Minimum 12 years of international procurement experience.
- Strong skills in supplier relationship management and contract negotiation in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex data and market trends for informed procurement decisions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with suppliers and stakeholders.
