Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for engineered and long-lead materials for infrastructure works.
- Manage vendor prequalification, tendering, bid evaluation, and award process for material supply contracts.
- Review technical specifications, BOQs, and project drawings to define material requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, and project teams to ensure technical compliance of procured materials.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure the best commercial terms without compromising quality.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, project requirements, and HSE standards.
- Manage relationships with global and local suppliers of engineered materials.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or claims.
- Oversee procurement schedules to avoid project delays due to material availability.
- Support cost control and value engineering initiatives to achieve savings on engineered packages.
- Provide regular procurement status reports and updates to senior management.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil / mechanical engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
- Minimum 10–15 years of procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within civil infrastructure/general contracting projects.
- Proven expertise in sourcing engineered and long-lead materials (steel, precast, concrete systems, geotechnical and mechanical, electrical packages).
- Strong knowledge of procurement procedures, contract management, and supplier negotiations.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and international procurement standards.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle or equivalent).
- Strong leadership, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural and fast-paced project environment.
