Job summary

Desert Man Transporting and Contracting is seeking a Procurement Engineer to manage materials, equipment, and supplier coordination for Abu Dhabi projects. You will handle RFQs, supplier evaluations, and purchase orders while ensuring compliance with UAE standards and project timelines.

The role requires 2-5 years in UAE procurement, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency in MS Office. UAE driving license is a plus and preference is given to candidates based in the UAE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or related field
• 2-5 years of relevant procurement experience in UAE (construction, contracting, transportation, or engineering)
• Knowledge of RFQs, quotations, and purchase orders
• Strong negotiation, communication, and coordination skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Knowledge of UAE supplier and market conditions is a plus
• UAE driving license is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Handle procurement of materials, equipment, spare parts, tools, and other project requirements
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare RFQs, review quotations, and conduct technical and commercial comparisons
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding prices, specifications, availability, and delivery schedules
• Review technical specifications, drawings and material requirements to ensure compliance
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions with suppliers
• Prepare purchase orders and follow up on orders until delivery
• Coordinate with project, engineering, operations and finance teams to ensure timely procurement
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines and product quality
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases and documentation
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, project requirements and UAE standards
• Source alternative materials and suppliers when required to maintain cost efficiency and project schedules
• Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and avoiding delays due to material shortages
