Procurement Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for indirect materials/service, spare parts, and other plant & Quarry needs.
• Conduct market research to identify competitive pricing and sourcing options.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and delivery terms.
• Carry out the contract management process in coordination with other departments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance against agreed metrics (quality, delivery, cost) and address any issues.
• Create action plans for suppliers by making periodic supplier evaluations.

Purchase Order Management:

• Generate and process purchase orders based on plant & Quarry production requirements.
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods by tracking purchase orders and communicating with suppliers.

Cost Optimization:

• Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiations, volume discounts, and alternative sourcing strategies.
• Analyze spending data to identify areas for cost reduction.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives and track their impact.
• Take an active role in continuous improvement projects.

Quality Control:

• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure procured materials meet quality standards.
• Implement quality checks on incoming deliveries.
• Address quality issues with suppliers promptly.

Compliance and Reporting:

• Adhere to company procurement policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
• Generate regular reports on procurement activity, including cost analysis and savings achieved.
• Contribute to the preparation of annual operational and investment budgets.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Engineering degree preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English.
• Good command of MS Office Applications and ERP systems; SAP knowledge will be a plus.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and good negotiating skills.
• Analytical thinking, result-oriented approach, and good interpersonal skills.
