Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Procurement Engineer with 5-10 years of relevant industry experience in the Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies specific to the industry, along with a proven track record in supplier management, contract negotiation, and procurement optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop specifications and performance test requirements for procuring parts and equipment.
  • Analyze technical data, designs, and manufacturing limitations to identify suitable suppliers.
  • Investigate and evaluate potential suppliers, recommending the most desirable options.
  • Negotiate contracts, quotations, and purchase agreements with manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Maintain and manage inventory of supplies to ensure optimal stock levels.

Technical & Operational Support:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to establish performance criteria and specifications for procurement.
  • Analyze bills of materials (BOM) and engineering drawings to understand key requirements.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes.
  • Provide technical advice to company personnel, suppliers, and customers regarding parts and equipment.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Arrange and participate in conferences between suppliers, engineers, purchasers, and inspectors to resolve technical and procurement-related issues.
  • Facilitate material inspection, substitution, standardization, and salvage processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering).
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in procurement within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proven experience working with relevant products and materials specific to the Oil & Gas sector.

Technical Competence:

  • Strong technical knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Expertise in negotiating contracts and quotations with manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Ability to analyze bills of materials (BOM) and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in identifying cost reduction opportunities and optimizing procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of supplier evaluation and inventory management.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to integrate technical knowledge with business acumen.
