Job description

The Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing technical materials and services in alignment with project requirements and company standards. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of engineering products while maintaining compliance with UAE regulations and local authority guidelines. The Procurement Engineer collaborates with engineering, project management, and vendor teams to support seamless project execution across industrial, construction, or manufacturing sectors.

Responsibilities:

  1. Reviewing project specifications and technical requirements to determine procurement needs.
  2. Identifying, evaluating, and maintaining relationships with qualified suppliers and manufacturers locally and internationally.
  3. Preparing and issuing RFQs, evaluating quotations, and negotiating pricing, delivery terms, and warranties.
  4. Coordinating with engineering and project teams to ensure material compliance and approval of technical submittals.
  5. Managing purchase orders, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely delivery in line with project timelines.
  6. Assisting in the development of procurement strategies, vendor audits, and performance evaluations.
  7. Ensuring all procurement activities comply with UAE trade regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
  8. Maintaining accurate procurement documentation and updating internal systems with pricing and supplier data.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or related technical discipline.
  2. 3-5 years of procurement experience in a technical/engineering environment within the UAE or GCC.
  3. Strong understanding of sourcing processes, supplier evaluation, and commercial negotiations.
  4. Knowledge of UAE customs clearance procedures, import/export documentation, and Incoterms.
  5. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office applications.
  6. Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  7. Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
  8. UAE driving license preferred for supplier visits and coordination.
