Job description

The Procurement Engineer is responsible for executing procurement activities, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining competitive quotations, evaluating offers, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services in compliance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

• Receive and validate Purchase Requisitions (PR) on the ERP system and manual PRs.
• Identify and source potential suppliers that meet project specifications and performance standards.
• Issue and manage Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to selected suppliers.
• Analyze and compare supplier quotations based on price, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Negotiate procurement terms to optimize cost savings and ensure supplier compliance with contract terms.
• Develop the relevant Comparison Sheet showing the prices, payment terms and delivery conditions of each Supplier.
• Obtain supplier confirmations for purchase orders, and related documents.
• Coordinate with the purchasing department for official purchase order issuance.
• Assist in monitoring supplier performance and contribute to updating the supplier scorecard.

Qualifications

Education :

A bachelor’s degree in engineering electrical, or related field is typically required.

Experience :

From 2 to 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, particularly in the UAE.

Technical Knowledge :

A strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and specifications related to the relevant industry.

Negotiation and Communication Skills :

Excellent negotiation and communication skills to interact with suppliers and internal teams.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills :

Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and develop solutions.

UAE Market Knowledge :

Understanding of the local supplier market and relevant regulations.
