Job description

Within Wood Abu Dhabi, we are actively expanding our project delivery portfolio to include Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Contracts.

As part of this growth, we are looking for personnel to join our team, either from internal Wood employees or the external market.

The type of personnel we are looking for is broad ranging including:

  • Ambitious people that want to grow their career within this exciting contract execution model, where they will gain experience across the full project lifecycle from Detailed Engineering, through Procurement & Fabrication and into Offshore Execution, covering Construction, Commissioning, Start-up, and Handover to Operations.
  • Experienced personnel with a background in PMC, EPC, or EPCM projects, capable of taking on senior positions and guiding the team to deliver outstanding performance across projects for Major Operators.

Projects within the EPCM model are diverse, covering onshore and offshore Brownfield Assets; typical examples include:

  • Onshore Pipeline Controls System Upgrades
  • Offshore Asset enhancement projects involving multiple systems and equipment on large platforms, Wellhead Towers, and Islands

Job Objective:

The safe and effective delivery of a portfolio of Brownfield Safety Critical Projects on multiple offshore platforms, including large production complexes (multi-platform bridge-linked) and remote Wellhead Towers within the UAE under an EPCM contracting model.

Typical projects include Fire & Gas System Upgrades, Power Upgrades, Control System Upgrades, Flare System Upgrades, and Platform Structural Modifications.

Responsible for leading and managing a supply chain project team providing all aspects of supply chain management, including materials management, warehousing, expediting, procurement, subcontracts, negotiation, and reporting.

Key responsibilities include directing and managing supply chain activities, contract and subcontract management for multiple projects running in parallel.

Supervising and ensuring the competence and performance of assigned supply chain personnel.

Understanding client head contract requirements, incorporating them into project supply chain strategies, plans, procedures, and terms.

Managing threats to the commercial position of Wood and the client, developing mitigation plans, and negotiating commercial terms with legal and commercial teams.

Monitoring and reporting on procurement progress, ensuring timely updates and escalation of critical issues.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of Supply Chain experience demonstrating results and progression to management roles.
  • Experience with Subcontract Agreements and Framework Agreements
  • Familiarity with industry forms of Subcontract
  • Expertise in Complex Tactical Procurement
  • Logistics and Materials Management skills
  • Understanding of client contract requirements
  • Strong supply chain principles and techniques
