Job summary

A leading company in the construction sector is seeking a Procurement Assistant to join their Supply-Chain team. The role involves managing purchase orders, liaising with vendors, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. Ideal candidates should have a relevant diploma or degree, 1-3 years of experience, and strong negotiation skills.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in construction.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a basic understanding of Incoterms.
  • UAE driving license is an advantage.

Job description

As a key member of the Supply-Chain team, the Procurement Assistant supports the entire purchasing cycle from requisition to delivery. Responsibilities include: Raising and tracking purchase orders, LPOs and contract amendments. Sourcing quotations, negotiating prices/terms with approved local and international vendors. Verifying material specifications against project bills of quantities. Coordinating with Site Engineers, Stores, Finance and Logistics to ensure timely delivery and accurate invoicing. Maintaining the approved-vendor database and expediting delivery schedules. Preparing weekly cost and delivery reports for the Procurement Engineer/Manager. Assisting in annual supplier performance reviews and ISO/QA compliance audits. The role is highly interactive—you will liaise daily with Project, Accounts, Stores, Logistics and external suppliers to keep our projects on schedule and within budget.

Diploma or Bachelor’s in Supply-Chain, Business, Engineering or similar. 1–3 years’ procurement or purchasing experience (construction sector preferred). Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and MS Excel. Basic understanding of Incoterms, local customs clearance and VAT regulations. Strong negotiation, numeracy and English communication skills (Arabic a plus). Ability to read construction drawings/specifications to confirm material compliance. Well-organised, deadline-oriented and able to manage multiple RFQs simultaneously. UAE driving licence is an advantage.
