Procurement Assistant

Job Location: Ras al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates

Job Description:

  1. Follow and implement storing procedures and safety instructions related to materials handling and storage.
  2. Ensure all items in store are moved according to the FIFO system.
  3. Prepare and file all related records for items movements.
  4. Improve program and service quality by devising new applications, updating procedures, and evaluating system results with users.
  5. Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
  6. Control purchasing department budgets.
  7. Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
  8. Coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying and storing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
  9. Participate in developing specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials.
  10. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
  11. Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
  12. Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
  13. Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  14. Represent the company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
  15. Plan transport routes and means, ensuring goods are packed appropriately, and negotiate contracts for transportation and handling.
  16. Prepare and verify all necessary documents to meet the requirements of national customs authorities or other regulatory bodies.

Requirements: Procurement software proficiency and Microsoft Office Suite skills are preferred.
