The purpose of the job is to lead production and operation shift activities as a leader in process and production at a phosphate beneficiation plant. The site is greenfield and requires guidance and support to achieve safe and smooth operation. The work requires hands-on competence to resolve oncoming problems and solve them with your team without delays. Tasks include training and coaching team members, developing maintenance processes, and driving the development of plant maintenance structures during shifts.

As the work will be in an isolated location, previous experience of similar work is expected. The candidate should be able to work with the team on-site alongside customer crews.

Requirements to manage the role:

• Work as a process shift supervisor, organizing reactive and preventive maintenance and repairs
• Manage and execute mechanical works, shutdown activities, and project works in a planned manner, including fitting and repairing plant machinery such as chutes, flotation cells, conditioners, pumps, pipes, grinding mills, thickeners, filters, conveyors, and other key areas to ensure continuous operation
• Ensure effective performance of mechanical maintenance workers and shift foremen
• Lead and motivate personnel, ensuring proper training and development
• Maintain safety standards in mechanical maintenance according to company policy
• Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with HSEQ regulations and statutory requirements, implementing improvements as needed
• Coordinate with other site personnel to ensure maintenance aligns with overall plant performance
• Perform all work in a planned, organized manner, following instructions and completing tasks on schedule
• Maintain housekeeping standards in the maintenance area
• Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to optimize plant performance and develop site maintenance
• Perform other duties as assigned by line management

Basic requirements:

• Excellent service attitude and strong customer focus

• Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance experience

Technical competence:

• Education in chemical or metallurgy engineering
• At least five (5) years of relevant experience in metallurgical or mineral processing plants (e.g., phosphate beneficiation or gold processing)
• Basic knowledge of ore processing and procedures for routine inspection and maintenance, including use of plant manuals
• Ability to motivate and lead others, evaluate performance, and establish plans
