Job summary

Unilever in Dubai seeks a Process Engineer to drive line efficiency and lead process improvements. You will work directly with line crews daily, coaching teams on root cause analysis, countermeasures, and process standardization to reduce losses and improve stability.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a similar FMCG process engineering role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven ability to eliminate wastes and losses on production lines.
  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

Position: Process Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Working directly with the line crews on a daily basis, the Process Engineer also acts as the technical trainer for line teams and provides coaching in phenomena identification, root cause analysis and the establishment of countermeasures as well as involving them early on the projects.
  • The successful candidate will serve as a single point of contact for R&D and a Cluster Engineering team regarding innovation, VIP and other projects.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments for projects, prepare and execute factory trials, budget, report results, and develop process manuals.
  • Supervise 1st productions and conduct relevant training for operators.
  • Validate all process improvements and establish revised basic conditions on the line, eliminating losses and wastes.
  • Increase line stability to support the transition of traditional line teams to semi‑autonomous teams.
  • Eliminate waste and loss according to the WCM prioritisation process using AM, PM, FI and QC pillar tools and methodologies.
  • Create technical standards to ensure process stability on the line.
  • Train line crews on technical standards and restoration of basic conditions (stability and sustainability).
  • Identify and extend good practice to other lines.
  • Ensure application and accuracy of MMP Code data.
  • Lead NPDs, VIPs, recipe changes, product transfer and line extension projects—overseeing technical feasibility, CAPEX preparation, technical installation, trials and first productions—ensuring OTIF and budget compliance.
  • Develop process manuals and training for operators.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the FMCG industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated strong technical knowledge from previous practice with evidence of elimination of wastes and losses from production lines.
  • Strong engineering leadership credentials with a proven ability to manage significant projects.
  • Clear understanding of operating principles and ability to establish correct operating standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to present findings and rationales so that an entire factory team can understand.
  • Ability to make logical decisions based on data.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders for projects.
  • Experience in statistics and process control tools.
