NES Fircroft is partnering with a leading Oil & Gas production company to recruit a Process Development Lead for their team in Abu Dhabi.
This is a contract role initially lasting 12 months, working full-time from the client's subcontractor offices in Abu Dhabi. An excellent day rate and contractor package are offered.
Role Overview
The Process Development Lead reports to the Concept Engineering Manager and is responsible for delivering process-related scopes during Feasibility, Concept Development, and Pre-Feed stages.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage performance of international contractor personnel supporting engineering scopes from Pre-Approve to early engineering.
- Assess and evolve the project portfolio to ensure alignment with organizational expectations and business value.
- Serve as focal point for assigned studies and concept scopes.
- Ensure process and multidisciplinary engineering assurance for Operator Developments.
- Provide specialist assurance and lead process development scopes within the portfolio.
Typical Duties
- Oversee execution of studies and conceptual design.
- Review contractor process discipline deliverables.
- Manage contractor performance for process engineering scopes.
- Coordinate studies with ongoing projects.
- Support technical consolidation and decision-making processes.
- Prepare and present techno-commercial assessments and recommendations.
- Develop project statements and decision support documents.
- Supervise scope progression through capital processes.
- Assist with cost estimation, RFI evaluations, RFP preparations, and bid evaluations.
- Plan project handovers and incorporate lessons learned.
- Participate in multidisciplinary reviews and risk assessments.
- Perform technical due diligence on power providers.
- Ensure adherence to company procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Process Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 20 years of experience in process, project, and brownfield engineering in onshore hydrocarbon industry.
- Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Hysys).
- Knowledge of hydraulic analysis and capacity optimization.
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and specifications.
- Proven leadership and communication skills.
- Experience across full project lifecycle, including owner’s engineering and assurance.
- Experience working with remote teams and diverse cultures.
- Ability to develop solutions at conceptual and detailed levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and initiative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; fluent in English; Arabic preferred.
- Chartered membership in a relevant professional institution preferred.
