About Wynn Al Marjan Island

On schedule to open in the United Arab Emirates in early 2027, Wynn Al Marjan Island has been created as an opulent and entertaining beachside destination for discerning guests to play and relax. Located less than 50 minutes from Dubai International Airport, this integrated resort offering 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants and lounges, a theatre, nightclub, and five-star spa is currently under construction on a picturesque island that gracefully curves into the Arabian Gulf.

About The Position

Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Principal Engineer - Lighting to join the resort’s Engineering team.

The Primary Duties And Responsibilities Of This Role Are

• Oversee the daily operation, preventive and corrective maintenance of all property-wide lighting systems, including façade, landscape, interior, theatrical, and emergency lighting.
• Monitor and optimize lighting control systems for performance, energy efficiency, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex lighting and control issues, coordinating with other engineering disciplines and contractors for resolution.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of lighting layouts, wiring diagrams, schematics, service logs, and inventory.
• Conduct routine inspections and ensure all lighting systems are functioning efficiently and safely
• Ensure lighting systems comply with UAE regulations, NFPA standards, and Wynn design specifications.
• Maintain records of daily operational activities and prepare reports.
• Provide inputs for monthly reports, dashboard reports and all audits, trainings conducted for the reporting month.
• Manage & Monitor operational KPI delivery by all staff.
• Collaborate with design, entertainment, and operations teams on lighting upgrades, renovations, and themed event setups.
• Review lighting plans and provide technical input on lighting designs, specifications, and control system integrations for new projects.
• Lead the procurement coordination with vendors for installation, testing & commissioning new lighting systems, ensuring alignment with Wynn’s aesthetic and performance standards.
• Integrate lighting systems with building lighting control system and audio-visual systems where applicable.
• Provide a hands-on leadership style, responsible for creating a customer focused culture that is based on delivering results, transparency and trust, whilst building organizational capability and empowerment.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of lighting technicians and junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and professional growth.
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design, or related discipline. Professional certifications (LEED, IESNA, ETCP, DMX/KNX) preferred.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in lighting systems engineering, with supervisory or project leadership experience in luxury hospitality, entertainment venues, or large-scale projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of lighting control systems, DMX, DALI, and energy-efficient technologies, and network-based lighting integration.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Dialux, Revit, MS Office, and lighting control programming on professional consoles.
• Familiarity with LED technology, intelligent fixtures, façade lighting, and integration with multimedia systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in a 24/7 resort environment.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
