Job summary

Halian is seeking a highly experienced Principal Rust Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and development of secure, scalable, high-performance software platforms in Abu Dhabi. This hands-on leadership role defines engineering standards, mentors engineers, and drives Rust adoption across distributed systems.

You will architect production-grade Rust services, guide multiple teams, and partner with product, security, and delivery to deliver scalable solutions in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 4+ years building production systems in Rust.
• Experience as Staff, Principal, or Lead Engineer.
• Expertise in distributed systems, backend engineering, and systems programming.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop production-grade Rust services and libraries.
• Lead technical decisions across multiple engineering teams.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, standards, and best practices.
• Improve system performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Mentor engineers and elevate overall Rust capability across the organization.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, SRE, and Delivery teams to deliver scalable solutions.
