Job description

The Principal Resident Engineer will provide key expertise in leading project delivery objectives and will take a proactive approach to managing and developing client relationships.

The Principal Resident Engineer, adept at engaging with various stakeholders, will be recognized as a technical resource for clients and internal colleagues seeking assistance.

Power Networks sector continually growing we are looking to appoint Principal Resident Engineer for our Abu Dhabi office / Project.

To be successful in this role you will be a min of degree qualified engineer with a minimum 15 years’ experience in Project management and construction of HV Overhead Transmission line (400kV / 220kV) including experience in erecting and testing of systems.

In this role, you will have served as an Owner's Engineer, capable of overseeing the construction of 400kV and/or 220kV HV Overhead Transmission Lines. Your responsibilities will include managing a team of engineers and supervising the EPC construction contractors for OHLs, ensuring that the project specifications are met with quality and executed on time and within budget, to the client's satisfaction.

You may also be required to review and approve EPC Contractor’s designs, Engineering, supervise the construction, testing and commissioning of various networks projects, whilst being familiar with all safety aspects of a site environment. You will be responsible for progress monitoring, Cost Control (internal and external), Change Order Management, etc. Previous work experience in the Middle East and an understanding of ADWEA, TRANSCO specifications are mandatory and would be an advantage.

Requirements

• At least 15 years’ experience in overseeing transmission line design managing Power related projects in Electrical Engineering in Project Management Consultant.
• Previous work experience in the Middle East would be an advantage.
• Minimum B.Sc. Electrical Engineering or equivalent as recognized by the reputed institution.
• Must have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Clear communication skills both verbal and written.
• Good leadership skills to be able to manage a team of people.
• Excellent risk mitigation & safety procedure adherence.
