Job description

Job Title: Principal Process Engineer

Wood is recruiting for a Principal Process Engineer to join its UAE Business Unit, focusing on analyzing and evaluating various concept design options to provide cost-effective solutions for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Sharjah, UAE.

This is a full-time, office-based role in Sharjah, UAE, with possible trips to Iraq if required.

Key Objectives
  1. Analyze and evaluate various concept design options to provide cost-effective solutions.
  2. Apply fundamentals and value engineering in carrying out concept and Pre-FEED study projects.
  3. Use HYSYS to develop oil processing facility simulations for different cases/options.
  4. Perform equipment sizing for oil and gas facilities.
  5. Follow international codes and standards, and adhere to good engineering practices for oil and gas facilities.
  6. Develop and provide technical solutions for specific project issues.
  7. Support internal development and continuous improvement activities.
  8. Ensure project and client targets are met using sound technical knowledge and decision-making skills.
  9. Carry out process engineering design activities following client and Wood standards, adhering to schedule and budget as advised by the Process Lead Engineer / Project Line Manager.
  10. Develop, review, and ensure the accuracy of detailed calculations, process engineering datasheets, and drawings.
  11. Stay updated with the latest technical developments in your field.
  12. Proactively pursue personal and professional development.
  13. Follow Wood and client health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures to maintain high safety standards.
  14. Manage technical and commercial risks appropriately, highlighting significant issues to relevant lead engineers and managers.
  15. Possess an engineering degree.
  16. Have proven process engineering design experience with a focus on technical safety and environmental aspects.
  17. Be a self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive, initiative, excellent communication skills, and good organizational awareness.
  18. Ability to impact and influence cross-disciplinary team members.
  19. Maintain a customer-focused approach, responding to customer needs while achieving project and corporate objectives.
