Job Description

Wood is recruiting for a Principal Piping Engineer to join its UAE Business Unit in Sharjah, UAE. The role involves planning, budgeting, organizing, and controlling piping engineering deliverables for the project.

This is a residential position with possible travel to Iraq for business trips as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for assigned piping engineering work scopes.
  • Plan, budget, organize, and control piping engineering deliverables.
  • Prepare piping deliverables conforming to engineering codes, standards, and client policies.
  • Ensure work is completed with quality and on schedule.
  • Provide guidance on piping engineering technical queries.
  • Coordinate with client’s engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Promote safety at all times.
  • Offer technical advice and solutions for piping discipline issues.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines during all project phases.
  • Identify progress or quality concerns and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience in layouts, stress analysis, and materials.
  • Brownfield experience is mandatory.
  • Experience working with multinational and multicultural teams is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the Middle East is advantageous.
