Principal Piping Designer hiring in Dubai, UAE within the Oil and Energy industry for major process plant and EPC engineering projects. This opportunity is ideal for experienced piping design professionals who can lead plant layout development, 3D modeling, and multidisciplinary coordination across Pre‑FEED, FEED, and Detailed Design stages while ensuring safe, efficient, and constructible project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform piping design and engineering for process facilities during Pre‑FEED, FEED, and Detailed Design phases
- Develop 3D models and ensure clash‑free coordination with all engineering disciplines and project interfaces
- Review and approve drawings, plot plans, and plant layout deliverables according to project specifications and company procedures
- Lead the piping design team to complete project tasks within planned schedules and approved budgets
- Act as the discipline point of contact for project teams, clients, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Coordinate discipline interfaces and ensure inter‑disciplinary design requirements are properly addressed
- Support Lead Piping Engineer in tracking progress, productivity, and piping deliverable performance
- Organize and manage 3D model reviews and ensure all review comments are properly closed
- Develop plant design layouts and piping drawings aligned with project scope and execution schedules
- Provide input into plant layout narratives and technical design documentation
- Identify design issues early and initiate corrective actions and change notifications where required
- Assist with technical queries, piping estimates, and job scope changes when acting as Lead Designer
- Attend project kickoff meetings, design reviews, vendor meetings, and model review sessions
- Supervise junior designers and support multi‑office project execution across remote design teams
- Ensure compliance with client standards, statutory codes, and company health and safety policies
Ideal Profile
- Strong experience in piping design for oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, or industrial process plant projects
- Proven expertise in plant layout development and 3D modeling for large EPC environments
- Deep understanding of piping design standards, constructability, and operational efficiency
- Experience working across Pre‑FEED, FEED, and Detailed Design project stages
- Strong leadership skills for managing design teams and coordinating multidisciplinary project execution
- Experience with multi‑office project execution and remote team supervision is highly valuable
- Strong problem‑solving ability with effective planning and resource management skills
- Excellent communication skills for client coordination and technical discussions
