Principal Integration / Interop and UTM Engineer

Location: Dubai, UAE
Employment: Permanent | Full-Time | On-Site

Volantes Technical Recruitment is seeking an experienced Principal Integration, Interoperability & UTM Engineer for a confidential, next-generation aviation programme based in Dubai.

This is a senior engineering position focused on integrating aviation systems with the wider airspace environment, including air traffic management, unmanned traffic management, surveillance systems and external aviation stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the integration of aviation systems with external airspace and operational systems.

• Own external technical interfaces through implementation and into live operational use.

• Support integration with UTM/U-space and air traffic services, including flight authorisation and conformance monitoring.

• Manage integration with external surveillance and traffic data sources.

• Establish and maintain interface configuration control.

• Develop solutions to maintain interoperability in degraded operational environments.

• Lead and support live integration trials involving air navigation service providers and emergency services.

• Work with external aviation stakeholders to support system interoperability.

• Contribute to relevant aviation standards and industry working groups.

• Support the integration of systems and services across the wider aviation ecosystem.

Essential Requirements

• Significant experience in airspace, air traffic management, aviation systems integration or interoperability engineering.

• Proven ownership of external technical interfaces through to live operational use.

• Experience with UTM/U-space or air traffic services integration.

• Understanding of flight authorisation and conformance monitoring.

• Experience integrating external surveillance and traffic data.

• Experience with interface configuration control.

• Understanding of interoperability in degraded operational environments.

• Experience supporting live trials with ANSPs or emergency services.

• Experience contributing to technical standards or industry working groups.

Desirable Experience

• Detect-and-Avoid (DAA) systems.

• Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or air ambulance operations.

• Geospatial, terrain and obstacle data.

• Vertiport or aerodrome integration.

• Emerging aviation regulations.

• Clinical or hospital integration.
