Job summary

Volantes Technical Recruitment Ltd in Dubai is seeking a Principal OCC / Dispatch Engineer to drive design and integration of OCC and aircraft dispatch systems for a next-generation aerospace programme.

You will shape operational requirements, architecture and interfaces across fleet monitoring, mission planning and dispatch workflows, collaborating with software, systems engineering and flight operations teams to ensure safe, scalable autonomous operations.

Qualifications

The Opportunity

Volantes Technical Recruitment is supporting an ambitious next-generation aerospace programme in Dubai and is seeking an experienced Principal OCC / Dispatch Engineer to support the design, development and integration of advanced Operations Control Centre (OCC) and aircraft dispatch systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a pioneering aerospace development programme focused on autonomous aircraft operations, mission planning, fleet coordination and operational control.

The successful candidate will play a key technical role in developing the systems and processes required to support safe, efficient and scalable aircraft operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering design and integration of Operations Control Centre (OCC) and aircraft dispatch capabilities.

• Develop operational requirements, system specifications and functional architectures for fleet monitoring, mission planning and dispatch systems.

• Support the development of aircraft scheduling, mission allocation, dispatch authorisation and operational readiness systems.

• Integrate OCC capabilities with Command & Control (C2), Ground Control Stations (GCS), telemetry and fleet management platforms.

• Develop solutions supporting real-time aircraft monitoring, operational decision-making and mission coordination.

• Define system interfaces between flight operations, aircraft health monitoring, maintenance planning and operational control systems.

• Support the development of automated dispatch workflows and multi-aircraft operational management capabilities.

• Conduct system integration, verification, validation and operational scenario testing.

• Collaborate with software, systems engineering, communications, flight operations and airworthiness teams.

• Ensure OCC and dispatch systems align with applicable aviation safety, operational and cybersecurity requirements.

• Provide technical guidance and support to multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

• Significant engineering experience within aerospace, defence, UAV/UAS, autonomous systems or complex aviation operations environments.

• Strong understanding of Operations Control Centre (OCC), aircraft dispatch, mission planning or fleet management systems.

• Experience developing, integrating or implementing software-intensive operational systems.

• Knowledge of aircraft operational workflows, flight planning, dispatch processes and mission coordination.

• Experience with systems engineering, requirements definition, interface management and verification and validation.

• Understanding of aircraft telemetry, operational data integration and real-time monitoring systems.

• Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering and operational teams.

• Strong technical problem-solving, stakeholder management and communication skills.

Highly Desirable

• Experience with UAV/UAS, autonomous aircraft or Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) programmes.

• Knowledge of Ground Control Stations (GCS), Command & Control (C2) and mission management systems.

• Experience with automated dispatch, fleet orchestration or multi-aircraft operations.

• Familiarity with UTM/U-space, airspace integration and autonomous flight operations.

• Experience with MBSE, SysML or model-based systems engineering methodologies.

• Knowledge of aviation operational control, flight following and dispatch regulatory frameworks.

• Experience with defence mission operations, C4ISR or complex ground segment systems.

• Familiarity with system safety, cybersecurity and operational resilience requirements.
