Talentmate seeks a Principal Hook Up Engineer to oversee hook-up and commissioning activities within the EPCI sector, coordinating with engineering and fabrication teams to ensure successful execution.

The role requires deep expertise in standards, project management, and team leadership, with a focus on safety, quality, and client relations across major projects. Dubai/Abu Dhabi region experience is a plus.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 12+ years in hook-up & commissioning in EPCI with offshore/onshore exposure.
• Strong knowledge of API, ISO, ASME standards and compliance oversight.
• Experience in project management and resource optimization.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and problem-solving prowess.
• Effective written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.

Job Description:

Job Overview:

The Principal Hook Up Engineer monitors the project cycle and guides the team on writing down progress observations, performing diagnostic tests, creating instructional manuals and resolutions, and ensuring healthy and productive business relationships with clients. They also coordinate with the team to suggest adjustment plans and implement essential guidelines that would fit the market standards to attract potential clients for future profitability. The Principal Hook Up Engineer is responsible for interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. The Principal Hook Up Engineer may be responsible for leading functional teams or projects and is regarded as a specialist in Hook Up

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations during the hook-up & commissioning phase, following company policies and procedures


• Responsible for conducting constructability reviews and maintain constructability log


• Implement previous recorded lessons learned on the project and maintain all Lessons Learned of the Project


• Responsible for Jack Up Barge/ Hook Up mobilization readiness


• Support and disseminate Engineering policies and Yard procedures, participate for any improvements


• Support Division Engineering for providing input to the bid and historical data from the projects


• Attending/provide training and provide feedback/improvement as required


• High standard of safe working practice, quality and productivity as well as compliance with the code of business conducts


• Ensure the resource forecast & manpower loadings during scheduling and execution phase


• Review project-specific training requirement and ensure compliance


• Arrange the Constructability meetings with Engineering team & Fabrication team


• Generate and review technical documentation, including procedures, manuals, and reports, to capture lessons learned and best practices for future projects


• Monitor and control project-related costs, schedule, and quality metrics during the hook-up & commissioning phase, implementing corrective actions as necessary


• Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, vendors, and third-party agencies


• Coordinate and supervise the hook-up & commissioning team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to enhance their performance and professional growth


• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential project constraints, proposing innovative solutions and mitigation strategies


• Lead and oversee the hook-up & commissioning activities for major projects within the EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) industry, ensuring their successful execution


• Develop and implement comprehensive hook-up & commissioning plans, defining key milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements


• Collaborate closely with project management and Fabrication teams to ensure seamless integration of hook-up & commissioning activities into the overall project timeline


• Stay updated with advancements in hook-up & commissioning technologies, methodologies, and industry trends, integrating them into project execution strategies


• Preparing project Close-out report

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering)


• Proven experience of at least 12+ years in hook-up & commissioning activities within the EPCI industry, including significant exposure to offshore and onshore projects


• Strong knowledge of industry standards, such as API, ISO, and ASME, and demonstrated ability to oversee compliance with relevant codes and regulations


• Expertise in project management methodologies and software tools, ensuring efficient planning, scheduling, and resource optimization


• Excellent leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing multidisciplinary teams and driving high-performance outcomes


• Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and resolve complex technical issues during hook-up & commissioning operations


• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences


• Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy and quality in all deliverables, while adhering to project constraints and deadlines


• Strong organizational and prioritization skills, enabling the management of multiple concurrent projects and tasks


• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, while maintaining a proactive and results-driven approach
