JOB TITLE: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER – QUALITY (FABRICATION YARD)

JOB LOCATION: SHARJAH & FAB YARD

Key Responsibilities

1. Possess a minimum of years of experience in a Senior Quality Engineer/Inspector role in fabrication of offshore topside and jackets.
2. Accumulated some years of experience in a relevant environment, with minimum years in Wind Energy or Oil and Gas offshore Platform Fabrication Companies in Europe, UAE, or East Asian regions.
3. Hold certifications in Welding Inspection (AWS CWI/CSWIP), NDT (ASNT/ISO 9712 Level II or III), Coating Inspection (BGAS/NACE Level II/III), and QMS Lead Auditor (ISO 9001:2015).
4. Experience in procurement activities.
5. Support review and provide input on the Fabrication yard ITPs/ITRs.
6. Conduct subcontractor capability assessments, as assigned.
7. Moderate/review subcontractor post-order evaluation reports/matrices.
8. Manage Quality Incidents (QIs) raised during surveillance visits and their closure status.
9. Coordinate and resolve any nonconforming product issues.
10. Review subcontractor QA/QC systems in accordance with project requirements.
11. Coordinate with discipline engineers and subcontractor engineers on establishing project-specific quality criteria.
12. Verify documentation and certificates for materials purchased by subcontractors.
13. Participate in fabrication inspections and surveillances.
14. Coordinate with client discipline engineers for technical discrepancy resolutions.
15. Coordinate with management for quality improvements.
16. Issue and track non-conformance reports.
17. Coordinate fabrication issues with the project construction team.
18. Travel regularly to the fabrication yard to support activities.
19. Ensure resolution of issues raised during inspections/tests, providing recommendations where applicable.
20. Coordinate and review fabrication dossiers for timely delivery based on the approved index.
21. Provide technical support for subcontractor queries, deviation requests, conformance, and non-conformance reports.
22. Work alongside the quality team and perform all related tasks as assigned.
23. Assist suppliers with test approvals and final reports.
24. Provide support as requested by the supervisor.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

1. Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
2. Certified Welding Inspector (CSWIP 3.1/3.2/AWS CWI/SCWI). Painting Inspector (NACE Level II/III/BGAS Grade 2/1) or equivalent preferred.
3. ASNT/PCN Level II in VT, RT, PT, MT & UT & ISO 9001-2015 certification.
4. Previous experience with a major EPC contractor.
5. Experience as a Senior Quality Engineer/Inspector in offshore topside and jackets fabrication.
6. Knowledge of EN ISO and DNV standards and codes.
7. Strong understanding of international codes and standards.
8. Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
