JOB TITLE : PRINCIPAL ENGINEER – QUALITY.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Review procurement documents to ensure that Welding related requirements have been correctly translated into purchase requisitions and design documents.
2. Develop, review, and approve Vendor & Site Sub-Contractor ITPs, QCPs, WPS, and ITRs based on corporate standards.
3. Coordinate with the customer’s representative on all quality welding-related matters.
4. Coordinate failure analysis and root cause analysis on welding-related issues.
5. Plan, conduct, track, and report welding engineering investigations.
6. Monitor welding procedures and welder qualifications.
7. Verify that the welding-related site activities comply with applicable codes and standards.
8. Monitor and control the subcontractor welding repair rate.
9. Participate in internal and external site audits.
10. Manage all non-conformance reports related to welding and undertake remedial actions.
11. Review customer specifications and undertake relevant training for site welding inspectors.
12. Monitor the implementation of the approved site QC plan.
13. Complete and coordinate the approval of site QC technical submittals related to welding for the customer.
14. Ensure all technical welding documents related to site quality control are up-to-date.
15. Report major welding issues to corporate quality for circulation as a quality alert.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS :

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or metallurgy engineering or equivalent.
• International Welding Engineer (IWE), CSWP 3.2.2, NDT PCN Level 2 certifications.
• Certified European Welding Engineer (preferred).
• Minimum years of experience as a welding engineer, preferably in oil & gas, offshore projects.
• Experience working with a major EPC contractor.
