A leading oil and gas engineering firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Principal Process Engineer with at least 12 years of experience in design and engineering. The successful candidate will oversee process design works, coordinate across disciplines, and guide junior engineers. Expertise in process-engineering software is essential. Excellent command of English is required for this role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years experience in oil and gas plants Design and Engineering.
  • At least 6 years in Lead Engineering role.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.

Job Description PURPOSE & SCOPE:During tendering stage, responsible for the review of enquiry documentation and the Scope of Work, perform pre-bid engineering, estimate man-hours and thus provide required inputs for bid preparation. After award of Project, work as Principal Process Engineer with complete responsibility of correctness and accuracy of the Process Deliverables issued on the Project deliverables. This responsibility includes guiding /training of Process Engineers as required and close coordination with other engineering disciplines and client's project team.The job holders at this level should have aptitude to work at managing level to work as Project Engineering Coordinators based on the size and complexity of the assigned project. The focus will shift from one of deep discipline knowledge to that of coordinating the various engineering disciplines involved in assigned projects and deputize for Head of Discipline during his absence from office.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reports to H.O.D. (Process & Safety) and works under his overall supervision
• During tendering stage, reviews enquiry documentation from client together with Scope of Work; raises queries where there is lack of clarity, interfaces with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities and finally provide Process inputs during bid preparation. On award of projects perform as under.
• Responsible for complete Process Design and Engineering works on a project, includes optimisation and correctness of design; cost considerations, man-hours control and providing guidance and training to the Process Engineers working on the Project.
• Coordinates with Project Engineering Manager assigned to the Project
• Co-ordinates with Project Manager, Clients, other Discipline Engineers, Consultants, Vendors, etc. as required.
• Develop scope for Sub contractors related to Process works as per Project requirements.

Skills Required MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from a reputed institute
• Minimum of 12 years experience in the oil and gas plants Design and Engineering, out of which minimum 6 years should be in LDE role.
• Knowledge and expertise in using process-engineering software like HYSIS, PIPESIM, PIPEPHASE essential
• Knowledge of OLGA, TGNET is preferred.
• Proven supervisory track record in major projects and management potential.
• Planning & organizing skills.
• Proficiency in guiding Process Engineers working for him.
• Have skill of coordinating with other disciplines and clients.
• Proven skills in routine process calculations and use of process software and in-house developed spreadsheets.
• Thorough knowledge of interdisciplinary interfaces.
• Good knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards.
• Good command of written and spoken English and report writing.
• Good technical knowledge and skills.
• Good interpersonal relationship.
• Should be familiar with routine safety studies like HAZOP, HAZID, and SIMOPS etc.
• Experience of leading engineering work in mega size EPC projects.
