Petrofac is currently looking to recruit a Principal Engineer - Planning to be based in Sharjah, UAE.

Primary Duties

  • Support the Project Controls Manager/Manager Planning responsible for planning and controls deliverables.
  • Participate in tendering by providing input to the Project Execution Plan, focusing on Level 1, 2, and 3 planning, and support proposals with understanding of activity sequencing.
  • Develop and maintain Level 1, 2, and 3 schedules from tender to execution, considering input from engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning disciplines.
  • Guide setup of the Technical Document Register (TDR) and Project Procurement Tracking Register (PTR), ensuring data population.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors or partners to develop optimal construction activity sequences, ensuring realistic timelines for engineering, procurement, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
  • Update TDR and PTR in line with project reporting, and report deviations to management.
  • Prepare project S-curves for all disciplines and generate weekly and monthly progress reports, highlighting schedule risks.
  • Gather commodity data from discipline engineers for monitoring and handover.
  • Create detailed (Level 4) plans for critical activities such as nozzle availability, structural erection, underground facilities, and building erection to monitor progress effectively.
  • Assist in transitioning from construction activity planning to system planning for commissioning and handover, ensuring contractual and logical compliance.
  • Perform related duties as required, ensure timely report submissions, and conduct risk and schedule assurance analyses.

Minimum Requirements

  • Participate in rebaselining exercises as needed.
  • Engineering graduation with at least 15 years of relevant experience, depending on project scope and complexity.
  • Deep knowledge of end-to-end EPC planning and management reporting.
