Roles and responsibilities
- Ability to manage/lead a design and approval process interfacing with the project team, clients, and stakeholders.
- In-depth and strong understanding of KSA Authority guidelines is a must.
- Lead the design from data collection, validation, identify design gaps.
- Prepare concept master plan stage to detailed master plan in terms of utility corridor space proofing, ROW, coordination with wet, roads, transportation, landscape, and building teams.
- Full understanding of dry and wet utilities and infrastructure projects from concept to IFC stage.
- Strong infrastructure engineering background with previous experience on infrastructure projects.
- Thorough experience in power systems such as grid stations, primary substations, HV corridor allocation, and understanding of 132/220/400 KV overhead and underground lines, relocation, and protection requirements of dry utilities including power, telecom, and lighting.
- Design/review of street lighting for all types of roads, ROW, lighting calculations, SLDs, load schedules, landscape lighting, branch wiring, etc.
- In-depth understanding of design and modeling works for wet utilities including potable water supply, firefighting, wastewater, and irrigation infrastructure projects.
- Review technical deliverables as per local authority and town planning department requirements for each dry service.
- Attend client design meetings, kickoff meetings, progress meetings, workshops, prepare presentations, and lead utilities design as front-end when required.
- Able to work on multiple bids and proposals, assisting team leads in pricing, methodology, and options.
- Focus on quality of design, review, ownership of deliverables, and ensuring safety and risk mitigation are followed in all projects, including updating risks, mitigation, and design assumptions registers.
Minimum Requirements
- 15 years of experience in the utilities sector covering both wet and dry utilities, with a minimum of 10 years in design.
- Construction supervision and building projects are not preferred.
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor's degree in relevant engineering.
- Preferably a master’s degree in relevant discipline.
- Chartered professional (C.Eng.) and holding a professional license/certification from recognized international bodies.

- Control Systems: Experience in designing and implementing control systems like PLCs, motor control, and SCADA systems.
- Electrical Distribution: Expertise in low-voltage and high-voltage systems, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Safety Standards and Regulations: Thorough understanding of electrical safety codes (NEC, IEC, IEEE) and compliance requirements.
- Renewable Energy Systems: Knowledge of solar, wind, and battery storage systems and their integration into grids or standalone systems.
2. Project Management
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills to mentor teams and ensure project objectives are met.
- Planning and Execution: Ability to plan, schedule, and oversee electrical projects from concept to completion.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency.
- Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Experience in budgeting for electrical projects, managing costs within constraints.
3. Design and System Analysis
- CAD and Simulation Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, MATLAB, PowerWorld for detailed schematics and simulations.
- Circuit Design and Analysis: Designing and analyzing electrical circuits for performance and safety.
- Fault Analysis: Conducting fault current analysis and protection coordination.
- Load Flow and Stability Analysis: Performing load flow, short-circuit, and stability analyses.
