Job summary

AECOM Dubai seeks a Principal Consultant - Environment to lead strategic environmental advisory services for regional clients. You will drive regulatory compliance, establish sustainable business practices, and mentor senior and junior staff on high-impact projects.

You will manage multi-sector environmental assessments, develop client-ready reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed sustainability into client programs and expand the consulting practice in the UAE and Middle

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting, sustainability advisory, or related environmental management roles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex environmental data and regulations
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale environmental projects and client engagements
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams in a consulting or advisory environment
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE and Middle East environmental regulations and standards
  • Proficiency in environmental management systems and sustainability frameworks (ISO 14001, ESG frameworks, or similar)
  • Project management expertise with demonstrated ability to deliver results on time and within budget
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities
  • Proficiency with environmental analysis tools, software, and data management systems
  • Preferred: Certifications in environmental management, sustainability, or related disciplines
  • Preferred: Experience in specific sectors such as oil and gas, construction, manufacturing, or renewable energy
  • Preferred: Knowledge of environmental audit procedures and compliance verification processes

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental impact assessments, audits, and compliance reviews across multiple sectors and project types
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive environmental consulting strategies and solutions tailored to client needs and regional regulatory requirements
  • Analyze complex environmental data and regulatory frameworks to provide actionable recommendations and risk mitigation strategies
  • Manage client relationships at the executive level, ensuring delivery of exceptional service and long-term partnership value
  • Oversee project teams and mentor junior consultants, fostering professional development and maintaining high-quality deliverables
  • Stay current with evolving environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and best practices in the UAE and broader Middle East region
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation that communicate environmental findings and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into broader organizational strategies
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the growth and expansion of the consulting practice
  • Represent the organization at industry forums, conferences, and regulatory meetings

We are seeking an experienced Principal Consultant - Environment to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this senior advisory role, you will provide strategic environmental consulting services to leading organizations across the region. As a Principal Consultant, you will combine deep environmental expertise with visionary thinking to drive sustainable business practices and ensure regulatory compliance. This position offers the opportunity to lead high-impact projects, mentor junior consultants, and shape environmental strategies for our diverse client portfolio.
