Volantes Technical Recruitment Ltd in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is recruiting a Principal Battery Systems & Qualification Engineer for a confidential advanced eVTOL programme. This hands-on role requires deep expertise across battery pack design, thermal management and safety qualification.

You will lead battery system development from cell to pack level, assess chemistries, define usable energy, and drive qualification programs in a high-demand aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' battery/energy storage engineering experience.
• Hands-on battery pack design at cell, module & pack level.
• Cell chemistry and format selection.
• Pack architecture, topology and usable-energy definition.
• Cell characterisation and battery modelling.
• Thermal design and management.
• Thermal runaway, abuse and propagation testing.
• Battery qualification programme experience.
• Requirements and development assurance knowledge.
• Supplier technical assessment and component selection.
• Experience within aerospace or equivalent safety-critical applications.
• Experience with high-power/high-C-rate battery systems, electric or hybrid-electric aerospace applications and certification environments.

This is a hands-on technical role requiring significant depth across battery pack design, cell selection, thermal behaviour, safety and qualification.
