Job Description
WSP Middle East is currently seeking a Principal/Associate - Landscape Architect based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
As a key leader, you will oversee the strategic direction, management, and delivery of landscape architecture projects. You will work closely with senior management to provide leadership, mentorship, and technical expertise, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the landscape architecture division, aligning team goals with company objectives and client expectations.
- Lead the conceptualization, design development, and implementation of complex landscape projects, incorporating site analysis, cultural context, and sustainability principles.
- Manage project teams, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery within scope and budget, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, stakeholders, and partners, ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee development of design concepts, presentations, and documentation, ensuring alignment with client vision and industry standards.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate landscape design into larger development projects.
- Lead business development efforts through proposals, client presentations, and networking to expand market presence.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in landscape architecture and urban design.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards, managing project risks proactively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or related field.
- At least 12 years of experience leading complex landscape projects in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
- Extensive experience in designing landscaping, public realms, and streetscapes.
- Strong project management skills, including team, budget, and schedule management.
- Proven leadership abilities to motivate and empower teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and GIS.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles, green standards, and environmental regulations in the Middle East.
- Fluency in English.
