Job description

Description

Principal Analyst, Aromatics

Location : Dubai, UAE

Business Unit : Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company

About the Role

We’re looking for a Principal Analyst to join the Aromatics practice at Chemical Market Analytics (CMA), part of OPIS, a Dow Jones company. Based in Dubai, you’ll focus on delivering high-quality insights and market intelligence for aromatics and derivatives in the Middle East and Africa. This position reports to the Global Aromatics Lead and plays a key role in building our market presence in the region.

About the Team

Chemical Market Analytics (CMA) delivers independent, data-driven insight across the chemicals value chain. Our services include price benchmarks, asset databases, market forecasts, strategic analysis, and consulting. We cover more than 200 core building-block chemicals and partner with clients globally to support better investment and operational decisions.

You Will

Conduct research and deliver market analysis on aromatics markets across the Middle East and Africa — including benzene, toluene, xylenes, and derivatives like styrene, glycols, and PTA.

Track and interpret trends in supply / demand, trade, pricing, costs, and company strategies, turning this into regular market advisory content.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with market participants — producers, consumers, and traders — to support reliable data collection and timely insights.

Create client-facing presentations, represent CMA at industry events, and actively participate in client meetings and workshops.

Collaborate on proprietary consulting projects, supporting internal teams and responding to client queries with subject-matter expertise.

You Have

7+ years of experience in the chemical industry, with a focus on aromatics and derivatives.

Strong working knowledge of commercial and market dynamics in the petrochemicals sector.

Direct experience in market research, consulting, or commercial roles with exposure to external clients.

Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders across industry and regions.

Advanced Excel skills; comfortable working with market models and cost analysis tools.

A background in chemical engineering or chemistry is preferred.

Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
