Job Title: Homeroom Teacher For Preschool And Primary

Position Overview:

As a homeroom teacher at the Spanish school of Abu Dhabi, you will create a positive and inclusive learning environment for preschool and primary students. You will play a crucial role in fostering their academic, social, and emotional development within our multicultural setting. We seek educators who can implement a student-centered learning approach, maintain high academic standards, and utilize creative teaching methodologies.

Responsibilities:

1. Inclusive classroom environment: create a welcoming classroom that promotes a sense of belonging for students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
2. Curriculum development: develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the Spanish curriculum tailored to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and language proficiency.
3. Interactive teaching: foster a love for learning by incorporating creative and active teaching methodologies to make lessons interactive, hands-on, and enjoyable.
4. Clear learning objectives: establish and communicate clear learning objectives to students, ensuring they understand academic and behavioral expectations.
5. Individualized support: provide individualized attention and support to students, adapting teaching strategies to accommodate their unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles.
6. Technology integration: utilize technology and instructional resources to enhance the learning experience and promote digital literacy among students.
7. Student assessment: assess and evaluate student progress regularly through various formative and summative assessment methods, providing timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
8. Collaborative projects: collaborate with other teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that integrate different subjects and promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
9. Community involvement: encourage student participation in community service initiatives, cultural events, and extracurricular activities to foster social responsibility and global awareness.
10. Parental communication: maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on their child's academic progress and addressing any concerns.
11. Classroom management: establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, implementing effective behavior management strategies and promoting positive discipline practices.
12. Professional development: stay updated with educational research, best practices, and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Working hours:

• Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
• Early bird program and afternoon dismissal will be on a rotating schedule.
• School holidays follow the calendar approved by ADEK.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Primary or Preschool Education with a specialization in the required field, if appropriate, issued by a Spanish University or recognized by the Ministry of Education in Spain.
• Teaching certification/license or equivalent qualifications recognized by the relevant educational authorities.
• Proven experience teaching preschool and/or primary students, preferably in a multicultural or international setting.
• Native speaker of Spanish. Proficiency in English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
• Knowledge of the Spanish curriculum and familiarity with innovative teaching methodologies and active learning strategies.
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace the multicultural setting of the school.
