The Pricing Analyst’s primary role is to procure and negotiate buy rates for DSV's business, aligning with market conditions to enhance DSV's success rate on pricing bids. The Pricing Analyst is highly analytical, detail-oriented, accurate, and capable of managing large and complex pricing files. This individual should understand the broader market context, identify trends, and communicate insights to management to improve DSV's competitive positioning. Additionally, the role involves maintaining and developing market intelligence in collaboration with Operations, Sales, and Management.

The ideal candidate is able to work with minimal supervision, raise concerns proactively, meet all deadlines, and possesses strong communication and organizational skills.

Reporting Line:

Report to: Manager, Projects

Role: Individual contributor

Detailed Responsibilities:

  1. Convert rate/cost input from DSV stakeholders into customer rate sheets.
  2. Manage and respond to spot quotation requests and RFQs for FCL, LCL, Air, OOG (including Project cargo).
  3. Manage timelines and submission deadlines effectively.
  4. Coordinate for competitive buy rates with carriers and stakeholders.
  5. Communicate effectively with carriers and build relationships with decision-makers.
  6. Ensure the accuracy and quality of customer requirements and documentation.
  7. Contribute to the development of Pricing/Tender Management services to improve efficiency and innovation.
  8. Analyze customer feedback to understand the impact on trade lanes.
  9. Develop a comprehensive understanding of market rates and dynamics.
  10. Monitor and update commercial price lists.
  11. Identify opportunities to optimize sales and profitability through strategic pricing.
  12. Coordinate and facilitate winning tender processes and their implementation.
  13. Collaborate with stakeholders according to pricing desk processes.
  14. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  15. Set pricing levels following company guidelines.
  16. Recognize company capabilities and identify areas for improvement.
  17. Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Characteristics:

  • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and strategy development skills.
  • Proven experience in creating and coordinating tender proposals and pricing inquiries.
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Experience in Shipping/Freight Forwarding is a plus.
  • Result-driven and business-minded.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to define requirements, analyze facts, and determine suitable solutions.
