Presales Engineer Job Description

The Presales Engineer will report to the Technical Manager and support our Abu Dhabi services offering. They will be involved in designing customer solutions, working closely with the local Sales team across various UAE markets. The role involves collaborating with clients to design software and infrastructure solutions, innovating new solutions, and shaping our product portfolio.

Responsibilities

1. Support the sales team in designing software solutions and virtual infrastructure platforms in our data centers and client sites.
2. Define customer problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
3. Provide design feedback, guidance to the implementation team, and communicate technical and business merits to stakeholders.
4. Bridge internal and customer organizational gaps, winning them over to our solutions.
5. Provide information on competitive products, highlighting advantages and disadvantages based on real-world experience.
6. Present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public.
7. Articulate cloud solutions such as IaaS, DRaaS, and BUaaS.
8. Create and deliver architecture proposals and solution briefs within company guidelines.
9. Lead responses to POCs, RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
10. Gather customer requirements, map solutions, and document proposals.
11. Demonstrate solutions to customers.
12. Coordinate with vendors and prepare Bills of Materials.
13. Write technical proposals, reports, and manuals.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

1. BSc in Engineering or related field with at least 5+ years of experience in software and infrastructure environments, including pre-sales design.
2. Experience with web server environments and operating systems.
3. Knowledge of Microsoft architecture, SharePoint, database modeling, and SQL.
4. Proven experience in technical upgrades and migration strategies.
5. Ability to use TCO and ROI tools to justify proposals and analyze performance data.
6. Experience working with various stakeholders to develop solutions.
7. Strong soft skills: self-starter, multitasker, flexible, organized, team player.
8. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Arabic.
