Job summary

Pactive Sustainable Solutions in Dubai seeks a seasoned BMS/IoT pre‑sales engineer to translate client objectives into architecture, scope and deliverables. You will develop BOQs, evaluate vendor quotes and prepare techno‑commercial proposals for integrated building management solutions.

The role requires hands‑on knowledge of Niagara N4, BACnet, Modbus and IP networks, plus strong documentation and client‑presentation skills. On‑site work and site surveys are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, Mechanical or related Engineering.
• Strong understanding of BMS/HVAC controls and smart-building/IoT solution design.
• Working knowledge of Tridium Niagara N4, BACnet, Modbus and IP networks; MQTT/LoRaWAN knowledge is advantageous.
• Ability to prepare technical documentation, BOQs and techno-commercial proposals.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, tenders, specifications, drawings and asset registers; identify gaps, site dependencies and clarification requirements.
• Engage with clients, FM teams and internal stakeholders to translate operational challenges into measurable BMS, IoT, energy and integration use cases.
• Conduct or coordinate site surveys, existing-system assessments, points audits and technical feasibility reviews with delivery engineers.
• Prepare solution architectures, system block diagrams, I/O and integration schedules, network concepts and high-level sequences of operation.
• Develop accurate BOQs and equipment selections for Niagara head-ends, JACE/controllers, DDC panels, gateways, meters, sensors and software licenses.
• Estimate engineering, programming, commissioning, integration, installation, connectivity, warranty and maintenance inputs with relevant teams.
• Obtain and technically evaluate OEM/subcontractor quotations, datasheets, compatibility evidence, lead times and commercial terms.
• Prepare techno-commercial proposals, line-by-line compliance statements, deviations, assumptions, exclusions and scope-of-work matrices.
• Assess BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, LoRaWAN and API integration requirements; identify third-party access, protocol, cybersecurity and licensing risks.
• Support budgetary pricing, value engineering, alternative designs, bid comparisons and margin reviews without compromising scope clarity.
• Coordinate solution reviews with programming, project delivery, procurement and FM/service teams prior to proposal submission.
• Present technical solutions, demonstrations, use-case benefits and ROI/value rationale to clients and internal decision makers.
• Manage pre-bid clarifications, site meeting actions, tender deliverables and controlled proposal revisions to agreed deadlines.
• Hand over awarded projects with approved BOQ, design basis, scope boundaries, pricing assumptions, vendor commitments and risk register.
• Workplace Health, Safety and Information Security: Follow site HSE requirements during surveys and protect client drawings, system data and bid information.

Job Purpose
