Job Purpose
- 1. Design, develop, integrate, test and optimize software-led BMS and IoT solutions, with primary ownership of Niagara N4 programming and application performance.
- 2. Convert field data into reusable control logic, automation, dashboards, analytics and cross-system use cases; lead software commissioning and technical handover.
Roles, Responsibilities, Duties
- 1. Develop and maintain Niagara N4 Supervisor and JACE stations, including point structures, naming conventions, templates and reusable libraries.
- 2. Configure BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP/RTU and other supported drivers; map, normalize and validate data from DDCs, meters and IoT devices.
- 3. Engineer station logic using Niagara wiresheets, control modules, schedules, alarms, histories and Program objects where appropriate.
- 4. Develop and tune HVAC control sequences for AHU/FAHU, FCU, pumps and ventilation equipment, coordinating functional requirements with site engineers.
- 5. Build PX/Hx or equivalent user interfaces, equipment graphics, supervisory dashboards, reports and operational views for FM/command centers.
- 6. Integrate LoRaWAN/MQTT devices and upstream systems via gateways, brokers or APIs; validate payload decoding, data quality and bidirectional commands.
- 7. Develop calculations, KPIs, rule-based diagnostics, exception alerts and energy/occupancy/IAQ analytics from operational data.
- 8. Prototype and assess innovative integrations and automation use cases; document proof-of-concept results, limitations and scaling requirements.
- 9. Configure remote communications, network addressing, user roles, secure access, backups and software version control with IT/OT stakeholders.
- 10. Prepare software design notes, point-mapping sheets, sequences, test scripts, alarm matrices and commissioning checklists.
- 11. Execute software FAT/SAT, point-to-point validation, trend verification, alarm testing, functional performance testing and defect resolution.
- 12. Troubleshoot logic, driver, database, controller, communications and data-quality issues; distinguish software from field/MEP defects.
- 13. Optimize station performance, polling rates, history retention, alarms and reliability; monitor system health and recovery behavior.
- 14. Provide knowledge transfer, as-built station backups, license inventories, user guidance and structured handover to service/FM teams.
- 15. Workplace Health, Safety and Information Security: Follow controlled change, access and backup procedures and comply with company/site HSE and OT security policies.
