A leading company in the ductile iron pipe industry is seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide technical sales support, engage with stakeholders, and promote DI pipe solutions across various projects. This role requires a blend of engineering expertise and sales skills, plus frequent regional travel. Candidates should hold a degree in engineering, with proven experience in technical sales and solid presentation skills.
Role Summary
The Pre-Sales Engineer will drive technical sales support for ductile iron (DI) pipe solutions by engaging consultants, contractors, and clients. The role combines engineering expertise, client education, and back-office coordination to ensure DI pipe specifications in projects and achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Consultations & Specifications
Work closely with consultants, engineers, and contractors to position DI pipes as the preferred choice in:
Water supply networks
Sewage/drainage systems
Industrial piping projects (e.g., oil & gas, firefighting)
Provide technical calculations (pressure ratings, thrust blocks, corrosion resistance) per AWWA C151, ISO 2531, EN 545.
Review project tender documents, BOQs, and drawings to ensure DI pipe compliance.
2. Promotions & Client Engagement
Conduct product presentations, workshops, and seminars for:
Engineering consultancies
Government water authorities
EPC contractors
Represent the company at trade shows (e.g., WETEX, WEF) and industry events.
Develop case studies and technical whitepapers showcasing DI pipe installations.
3. Back-Office Support
Prepare technical submittals, compliance certificates, and material approvals for projects.
Coordinate with the engineering team to customize DI pipe solutions (sizes, linings, joints).
Maintain a competitor analysis database (pricing, specs, market trends).
4. Sales Enablement
Train sales teams and distributors on DI pipe technical differentiators.
Assist in pricing strategies based on project requirements and raw material costs.
Support RFQ/RFP responses with technical inputs and drawings.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Update CRM (e.g., Salesforce) with client interactions and project pipelines.
Generate weekly pre-sales activity reports (leads, specifications, conversions).
Skills & Qualifications
Education
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (Master s preferred).
Experience
3+ years in pre-sales/technical sales for DI pipes, valves, or water infrastructure.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in hydraulic calculations, AutoCAD, and pipe stress analysis.
Knowledge of DI pipe standards (AWWA, ISO, DIN) and corrosion protection methods.
Soft Skills
Strong presentation and negotiation abilities.
Fluent in English (Arabic/French is a plus for target markets).
Work Environment
Frequent regional travels.
Close work with R&D, production, and sales teams.
