Job summary

NSR Associates is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Engineer to lead the development of construction methodologies, logistics strategies, temporary works planning, and buildability solutions during the pre-construction phases of major building projects.

You will partner with design, planning and delivery teams to identify risks, review tender submissions, and ensure safe, efficient site operations with robust crane strategies and sequencing for complex programs in the UAE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related construction discipline.
• 10+ years of UAE/GCC construction market experience with reputable main contractors on large-scale building projects.
• Expertise in construction logistics, crane planning, temporary works, construction sequencing, and methodology development.
• Strong technical understanding of substructure, superstructure, structural construction, excavation works, and complex buildability challenges.
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical tender submissions, construction methodologies, logistics plans, and pre-construction delivery strategies.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and senior management.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of comprehensive construction logistics strategies and site logistics plans ensuring safe and efficient site operations, access, material flow, welfare facilities, and traffic management.
• Prepare and manage crane strategies, tower crane studies, lifting plans, and heavy lifting methodologies to support tender submissions and project delivery.
• Oversee planning and coordination of temporary works solutions including excavation support, platforms, access, formwork, and structural stability.
• Develop detailed construction methodologies, phasing plans, sequencing strategies, and buildability assessments for complex projects.
• Collaborate with design, planning, commercial and project delivery teams to identify risks, opportunities and value engineering in pre-construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of comprehensive construction logistics strategies and site logistics plans, ensuring safe and efficient site operations, access arrangements, material flow, welfare facilities, and traffic management.
• Prepare and manage crane strategies, tower crane studies, lifting plans, and heavy lifting methodologies to support tender submissions and project delivery.
• Oversee the planning and coordination of temporary works solutions, including excavation support systems, working platforms, access arrangements, formwork, and structural stability requirements.
• Develop detailed construction methodologies, phasing plans, sequencing strategies, and buildability assessments for complex projects.
• Collaborate with design, planning, commercial, and project delivery teams to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions during the pre-construction phase.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' experience within the UAE/GCC construction market, working for reputable main contractors on large-scale building projects.
• Demonstrable expertise in construction logistics, crane planning, temporary works, construction sequencing, and methodology development.
• Strong technical understanding of substructure, superstructure, structural construction, excavation works, and complex buildability challenges.
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical tender submissions, construction methodologies, logistics plans, and pre-construction delivery strategies.
