Job summary

Confidential Company in Abu Dhabi is seeking a senior Public Relations and Media Communications lead to shape and execute the university’s external communications. You will manage media relations, campaigns, and crisis communications while ensuring brand consistency across channels.

The role requires strong writing, relationships with media, and ability to coordinate cross-functional teams. Fluency in English and Arabic is highly valued in this dynamic university setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in PR, mass comm, journalism, marketing, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional PR certifications advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant PR/media/communications experience.
• Experience in a university or higher education environment preferred.
• Proven experience in media relations, campaigns, content development, and event communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the university’s public relations and media communication plans.
• Prepare and distribute press releases, news stories, announcements, and statements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and international media.
• Coordinate media coverage of university events, achievements and announcements.
• Monitor media coverage and prepare regular reports and analysis.
• Coordinate interviews, press conferences, media visits and related activities.
• Ensure external communications are accurate, professional, and on-brand.
• Manage content for official communication channels and social media where applicable.
• Support development of campaigns to promote programs, achievements, events and initiatives.
• Coordinate with colleges/departments to collect news and stories for publication.
• Review and edit media materials before publication.
• Support during crises by coordinating communications with stakeholders and management.
• Prepare speeches, talking points, media briefs, key messages for senior management.
• Coordinate photography, videography and media coverage of events.
• Maintain an organized database of media contacts and materials.
• Ensure compliance with university policies and UAE regulations related to media/communications.
• Prepare periodic reports on PR, media activities, coverage and engagement.
• Supervise PR/media staff, interns, or assigned team members.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the University s public relations and media communication plans in line with its strategic objectives
• Manage the preparation and distribution of press releases news stories announcements media statements and other official communications
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local regional and international media organizations and journalists
• Coordinate media coverage of University events achievements activities and major announcements
• Monitor media coverage and public mentions of the University and prepare regular reports and analysis
• Coordinate interviews press conferences media visits and other media-related activities
• Ensure that all external communications are accurate professional consistent and aligned with the University s brand and communication guidelines
• Manage and coordinate content for the University s official communication channels and social media platforms where applicable
• Support the development of communication campaigns to promote the University s programs achievements events and initiatives
• Coordinate with colleges departments and administrative units to collect news achievements and stories for publication
• Review and edit media and communication materials before publication
• Support the University during sensitive or crisis situations by coordinating communication with relevant stakeholders and management
• Prepare speeches talking points media briefs key messages and other communication materials for senior management when required
• Coordinate photography videography media interviews and coverage of important University events
• Maintain an organized database of media contacts press coverage publications and communication materials
• Ensure compliance with University policies branding standards and applicable UAE regulations related to media and communications
• Prepare periodic reports on PR and media activities coverage engagement and achievements
• Supervise and guide PR and media staff interns or assigned team members
• Perform any other duties related to public relations media and communications as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• Professional qualifications or certifications in public relations, communications, or media are an advantage.
• ExperienceMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in public relations, media, communications, or a similar role.
• Experience in a university or higher education environment is preferred.
• Proven experience in media relations, communication campaigns, content development, and event communication.
