Job summary

Confidential in Dubai seeks an experienced BI Lead to own end-to-end Power BI delivery, translating business requirements into governed BI solutions.

You will design star schemas, optimize performance with VertiPaq, and mentor a junior developer while coordinating with stakeholders across client teams.

The role requires 6–10 years in BI, 4–6+ years Power BI, strong SQL/DAX, and governance experience in enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Advanced DAX and Power BI modeling
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills
• Experience with large enterprise BI environments

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements and Excel/MIS reporting into a governed BI solution.
• Design star-schema / dimensional models and reusable Power BI semantic models.
• Define KPI logic, measures, calculation patterns and modelling standards.
• Lead DAX, Power Query and SQL design decisions and code reviews.
• Design for performance: VertiPaq, cardinality, query performance, aggregation, incremental refresh and storage modes.
• Define security, workspace structure, deployment/release practices and governance.
• Evaluate custom visuals and advanced Power BI capabilities where standard visuals are insufficient.
• Mentor the second developer and establish reusable development patterns.
• Work with client stakeholders to identify data gaps, source dependencies and delivery risks.
