Job summary

GBM seeks an experienced Power BI Lead to design, develop and govern scalable enterprise BI solutions using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and the Azure data ecosystem. The role combines hands-on technical leadership, data modelling and visualisation with mentoring and close engagement with business and technology stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performing analytics.

You will lead the design of semantic models, enforce standards, and oversee deployments while collaborating with data engineering

Qualifications

• 7-8 years of experience in BI, data analytics or enterprise reporting.
• 4-5+ years hands-on Power BI experience.
• Advanced expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, dashboard development and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of star and snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling, data warehousing and semantic model design.
• Hands-on SQL with relational databases; proficiency in Azure data ecosystem (Synapse, Data Lake, Databricks, Fabric).
• Proven experience governing enterprise BI environments and leading BI projects or teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior/CXO-level stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise-grade BI solutions and semantic models.
• Define and enforce development standards for dimensional modelling, DAX, Power Query and report design.
• Develop interactive dashboards, scorecards and reports aligned with KPIs and strategic objectives.
• Implement governance, workspace management, CI/CD, version control, RLS and OLS.
• Integrate reporting with Azure Synapse, Data Lake, Databricks and other enterprise apps with data engineering teams.
• Optimize large datasets, calculations, refresh processes and capacity for scalability.
• Lead and mentor BI developers and analysts through reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into measurable analytics outcomes and drive self-service BI adoption.
• Support solution demonstrations, estimations, proposals, and client workshops leveraging Fabric and AI capabilities.

POWER BI LEAD | Business Intelligence & Analytics

Duration: One year extendable

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Lead to design, develop and govern scalable enterprise BI solutions using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and the Azure data ecosystem. The role combines hands‑on technical leadership, strong data modelling and visualisation expertise, team mentoring, and close engagement with business and technology stakeholders to deliver secure, high‑performing and actionable analytics solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and architect enterprise‑grade BI solutions, semantic models and reusable datasets using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services.
• Define and enforce development standards for dimensional modelling, DAX, Power Query (M), report design, accessibility, optimization and documentation.
• Develop interactive dashboards, scorecards and reports aligned with business KPIs, operational needs and strategic objectives.
• Implement governance, workspace management, deployment pipelines, CI/CD, version control, Row‑Level Security (RLS) and Object‑Level Security (OLS).
• Integrate reporting solutions with Azure Synapse, Data Lake, Databricks, SQL Server, API Endpoints and other enterprise applications in collaboration with data engineering teams.
• Optimize large datasets, complex calculations, refresh processes and capacity utilisation to ensure scalability, reliability and strong user experience.
• Lead and mentor BI developers and analysts through solution reviews, code reviews, knowledge sharing and delivery oversight.
• Partner with business stakeholders, IT teams and senior leadership to translate requirements into measurable analytics outcomes and drive self‑service BI adoption.
• Support solution demonstrations, project estimations, proposals, client workshops and continuous improvement using Fabric, Copilot and emerging BI/AI capabilities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• 7-8 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or enterprise reporting, including 4-5+ years of strong hands‑on Power BI experience.
• Advanced expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query (M), dashboard development, data visualisation and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of star schema, snowflake schema, dimensional modelling, data warehousing and semantic model design.
• Hands‑on experience with SQL, relational databases, ETL/ELT workflows and the Azure data ecosystem, including Synapse, Data Lake, Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.
• Proven experience governing enterprise BI environments and leading BI projects or development teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior and CXO‑level stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Microsoft Power BI or Fabric certification; experience with Agile delivery, enterprise analytics transformation and AI‑enabled analytics.
