Job summary

Jotun MEIA FZ-LLC is recruiting an R&D Chemist in Dubai to develop and maintain coatings, binders, and raw materials. You will lead formulation, testing, and documentation, while supporting the R&D strategy and cross-functional knowledge transfer.

You will mentor junior staff and ensure compliance with HSEQ and international standards, reporting to the Regional R&D Manager - Powder Coatings. Highly relevant experience and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar R&D/coatings role.
• Strong knowledge of coating formulation, especially powder coatings, including binder systems and curing chemistries.
• Experience with performance validation and international test methods and standards.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive products, assets, projects, and transfers end-to-end – planning, formulation, testing, validation, documentation.
• Independently execute projects and coordinate larger tasks to meet timelines and quality targets.
• Support compliance with performance and certification requirements through robust test planning and interpretation.
• Contribute to defining new global/regional innovation projects with a sustainability focus.
• Coach junior chemists and technicians; ensure knowledge transfer.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSEQ requirements and governance for raw materials, formulations, and test results.
