Job summary

Jotun MEIA FZ-LLC is seeking an R&D Senior Chemist to develop and maintain coatings, binders, and raw materials, driving projects from planning to documentation.

The role involves testing, evaluating, and validating formulations, supporting global transfers, and advancing sustainability across the MEIA region. Master’s or PhD with extensive experience required; strong English communication essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s with 12+ years, or PhD with 5+ years.
• Strong coatings formulation knowledge in protective coatings, including binder systems and curing chemistries.
• Experience with performance validation and internationally accepted test methods.
• Ability to manage tasks and projects independently with strong structure and follow-up.
• Proficient in verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive assigned products, assets, projects, tasks, and global transfers end-to-end.
• Independently execute projects and coordinate larger tasks to meet timelines and quality targets.
• Support compliance with performance and certification requirements through robust testing.
• Contribute to defining new global/regional innovation projects with sustainability focus.
• Coach junior chemists and technicians; ensure knowledge transfer and competence building.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSEQ requirements and governance.
