Job summary

Jotun MEIA FZ-LLC is seeking an R&D Senior Chemist in Dubai to develop and maintain coatings, binders, and raw materials. You will drive projects end-to-end, test and validate formulations, and support the R&D strategy with data-driven insights.

The role requires extensive coatings expertise, experience with performance validation, and strong English communication. You will mentor junior staff and ensure compliance with global standards in a dynamic, innovative environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 10+ years of related experience OR Bachelor’s with 12+ years OR PhD with 5+ years.
• Strong coatings formulation knowledge in protective coatings.
• Experience with performance validation and standardized test methods.
• Ability to manage tasks and projects independently and with structure.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive products, assets, projects end-to-end including planning, formulation, testing, validation and documentation.
• Coordinate larger tasks to meet timelines and quality targets with data-based recommendations.
• Support compliance with performance and certification requirements through robust test planning and interpretation.
• Contribute to defining new global/regional innovation projects with sustainability focus.
• Coach junior chemists and technicians; ensure knowledge transfer and competence building.
• Ensure adherence to HSEQ requirements and test/documentation governance.
