The selected candidate will contribute to an ongoing research project focused on micro-lithofacies, fossil faunal assemblages, sedimentological analysis, and sequence stratigraphy, with the objective of developing a paleo-environmental model for a specific geologic period (Paleogene) in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting geological fieldwork.
  2. Performing laboratory analyses, including micropaleontological assessments and petrographic description.
  3. Interpreting biostratigraphic and sedimentological data to reconstruct past depositional environments.
  4. Preparing high-quality manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  5. Collaborating with research teams within UAEU and other institutions, contributing to knowledge exchange and project success.

Application Requirements:

  1. Cover Letter: Including a statement of motivation and research interest.

Note: Applications must be submitted online (see link below) and the position remains open until filled.

Minimum Qualification:

  1. Ph.D. in Micropaleontology (foraminifera, ostracoda) and biostratigraphy.
  2. Strong academic track record with demonstrable experience in micropaleontology, facies analysis, and paleoenvironmental reconstruction.
  3. Proficiency in fieldwork.
  4. Hands-on experience in laboratory work related to micropaleontology and biostratigraphy.
  5. Ability to work in a collaborative research environment and engage in professional networking.
