Client of Faststream Recruitment Limited

Faststream is currently searching for an experienced Post Fixture/Operations Controller to join a global and reputable ship owner/operator based in Dubai.

Role Overview:

• Location: Dubai, UAE
• Focus: Expert management of lay-time calculations, demurrage, off-hire claims, managing final freight and hire settlements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Accurately calculate and monitor laytime for vessels in accordance with the terms of the charter party agreements and relevant operational data.
  2. Liaising with operations, commercial and legal departments on negotiation and settlement of laytime disputes.
  3. Monitor and calculate demurrage costs for delays and ensure timely solution of any disputes related to demurrage charges.
  4. Analyzing and reporting any laytime related risk issues identified in third-party contracts, providing recommendations for mitigation.
  5. Interpret charter party terms relating to actual events with the aim of achieving the most favorable commercial outcome while ensuring a professional approach and maintaining strong commercial relationships.
  6. Maintain up to date records of all laytime and demurrage calculations, including reports, correspondence, and contracts.
  7. Final hire settlement with Charterers/Owners as the case may be while accounting for off-hires, deductions, receivables.
  8. Ensure the Finance department is provided with all required information to process payables and receivables on time.
