Job description

The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking to recruit a postdoctoral associate to join a new initiative focused on designing and developing novel medical devices for human use.

The successful candidate will participate in various projects aimed at improving diagnosis and therapy for metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurologic diseases. These projects involve computational modeling, device design and manufacturing, optimization of chemical, mechanical, and electrical properties, and preclinical experiments. CENTMED offers multidisciplinary training with significant academic freedom across high-impact translational projects. The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team comprising PhD-level scientists, graduate, and undergraduate students, gaining skills in manuscript and grant proposal writing, research advising, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Applicants must hold a PhD in engineering or a biomedical-related field. Strong experimental skills relevant to the projects—such as computational simulations, device design and fabrication, electronics, chemical coatings, and in vitro and in vivo experimentation—are required. Proficiency in English is also necessary.
