Post-Doctoral Associate in the Center for Translational Medical Devices - Dr. Khalil Ramadi

The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a postdoctoral associate to join this new initiative focused on designing and developing novel medical devices for ultimate human use.

The successful applicant will join several fascinating projects on engineering novel approaches to improve the diagnosis and therapy of metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurologic diseases. These projects entail computational modeling, device design and manufacturing, optimization of chemical, mechanical, and electrical characteristics, and preclinical experiments. CENTMED offers multidisciplinary training with a high degree of academic freedom among various high-impact translational projects. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students, and undergraduate students, ensuring the candidate learns valuable skills in writing manuscripts and grant proposals, advising fellow researchers, and establishing collaborations across disciplines.

Responsibilities:

1. Engage in computational modeling, device design, and manufacturing.
2. Optimize chemical, mechanical, and electrical characteristics.
3. Conduct preclinical experiments.
4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
5. Contribute to manuscript writing and grant proposals.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. PhD in an engineering or biomedical-related field.
2. Excellent experimental skills relevant to the project (computational simulations, device design and fabrication, electronics, chemical coatings, and in vitro and in vivo experimentation).
3. Proficiency in English.
