Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Surface Polishing & Maintenance
2. Polish and maintain metal, wood, marble, and glass surfaces to ensure a high-quality finish.
3. Conduct routine inspections to identify scratches, tarnishes, or wear on surfaces and apply the necessary restoration techniques.
4. Utilize appropriate chemicals and polishing tools based on surface type and manufacturer recommendations.
5. Repair & Restoration
6. Perform minor repairs on furniture, fixtures, and decorative pieces to restore their original appearance.
7. Apply protective coatings, waxes, and sealants to prolong the life of surfaces.
8. Work with the carpentry team to refinish damaged or worn-out wooden elements.
9. Equipment & Safety Compliance
10. Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of polishing tools, equipment, and chemicals.
11. Adhere to safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
12. Report any major damages or maintenance issues to the Engineering Supervisor.
13. Guest & Staff Interaction
14. Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when working in public areas.
15. Ensure minimal disruption to guests while carrying out tasks.
16. Respond to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
17. Inventory & Documentation
18. Maintain records of polishing schedules, completed tasks, and materials used.
19. Assist in inventory management by requesting necessary supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

1. Prior experience as a polisher, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting.
2. Strong knowledge of polishing techniques for various surfaces, including wood, metal, and marble.
3. Familiarity with the safe use of polishing machines, tools, and chemicals.
4. Attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality finishing standards.
5. Basic repair and restoration skills.
6. Ability to work independently and within a team.
7. Good communication and time-management skills.
