A leading international hotel chain in Dubai is seeking a maintenance worker to address guest repair requests and perform preventive maintenance on various equipment. Ideal candidates will have some previous experience in maintenance roles, be familiar with tools, and hold a driver's license. POSITION SUMMARY
Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify, locate, and operate shutoff valves for equipment and utility shutoffs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication standards. Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building systems. Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and clean-up of repair areas. Test, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs and manage inventory related to housekeeping and engineering. Use Lockout/Tagout systems before maintenance. Perform repairs on landscaping and sprinklers. Demonstrate basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.
Follow all safety, security, and company policies; report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; store flammable materials properly. Maintain a professional appearance, confidentiality, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge guests, address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely. Adhere to quality standards. Develop positive relationships with colleagues, support team goals, and respond to concerns appropriately. Communicate clearly and professionally. Lift objects up to 50 pounds independently; heavier tasks with assistance. Move within stairs, ramps, ladders, and reach overhead or below knees. Use computers to locate work information. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.
Experience: Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
Supervisory Experience: None required.
